New Megaswill Brewery for Aus?

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

New Megaswill Brewery for Aus?

Post by rodman »

Just picked this up from NineMSN:

SABMiller mulls building Aussie brewery

Just what we need: another global corporation producing another bland generic product! :(

Great start buying Blue Tongue! 8)

Great, more 'premium beer' made in Australia.

If I buy Stella I expect it to be made in Belgium, If I buy Pilsner Urquel then it better be made in Czech Rep and so on for peroni.

It's a joke, Asahi made in Thailand etc.

Consumers are being ripped off, paying $60 for imported beer that's made at CUB in Melb........................

Just makes the case for HB even stronger!!!

Words from my mouth... could not agree more!

Thankfully we are of the few that actually KNOW we are being ripped off when we buy the "brewed under authority" garbage!
Prost and happy brewing!

Anyone else see the parallels between the big beer industry and the big music industry? Big businesses making bland homogeneous products whose demand is driven solely by marketing... small operators who are getting back to their roots, making wonderful various products with real soul... and people who enjoy that which they make themselves, at home.

This seems like a worthy cause. In England they have CAMRA maybe we need to start CRIB ..........Campaign for Real Imported Beer!!!

I even saw ACA run a story on it!!!! It must be important!

If a number of us agree this is worthwhile should we start a section on the site so people can post there support?

Not sure what it proves.
