Cooper's original stout kit + Wyeast 1084?

Post by Artichoke »

Hi,

This being my first post, I'd like to introduce myself to this forum, and also thank all of the contributors for your previous posts, which I've been reading for a while now. There's lots of excellent information and expertise here!

And now, my question: Has any of you made the Cooper's original stout kit with liquid Wyeast 1084 "Irish ale" yeast in place of the supplied dried yeast, and if so, did it make a significant improvement over using the supplied dried yeast packet?

Thanks,

- Artichoke

Welcome Artichoke.

The Coopers Stout is a dry stout much in the style that is fitting to that yeast. You will find a significant difference by using that yeast in place of the kit yeast!

Have a search of the recipe section. Some dark malt extract and a bit of bittering hop and you can make an excellent drop!
Prost and happy brewing!
