FS/EOI - 2x Ball Lock Kegs (Townsville)

Post by Ash »

Hi Guys,

I aquired a pair of these suckers cheap but later found out they can't be converted to pin lock to match my setup.

The previous owner hadn't used them for a while so you'd probably want to put some seals through them.

Also, I haven't been able to test them as I don't have the ball lock gear & the HBS wants too many doleros to test them for me.

They are located in Townsville, North QLD.

If you are local I'm happy to bring them around to test prior sale, out of towners would be buying at their own risk - could ship via Bus Freight at buyers expense.

Would suit someone who already has a kegging setup who wants more kegs. They also have smartstrips attached, refer to the Craftbrewer site for more info on them --> http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=724

So, any offers?

Reply here, use the new PM feature or email me ahinds AT nitrousnet.com.au

Are they 19 or 23L? I would be very interested if they are the 23L Aussie kegs...

Nope, 19l ones.

Also just double checked - they are Firestone ones with Pepsi USA on them

Alternatively if anyone could help me out with converting them to pinlock to match my current setup I'd be keen for that too.

Hmmm... the Firestone kegs I have are 23L...

Any pics? Measurements would be good.

640mm high (including the handles & feet), 220 external diameter - filled to the weld holds 19l (filled keg to weld, tipped into empty fermenter with measurement markings)

Yeah, they are different to mine. I fear I may never find more of these kegs. They are great kegs though, if anyone ever has a chance to buy the 23L kegs do it!

How much do you reckon it would cost to send them down to Bundy?

Ah, beer, my one weakness. My Achille's heel, if you will.

I've had an offer of about $50 each keg, depending on shipping costs (which I am looking into)

Why can't you convert them? Looks like they take standard keg posts that just screw off with a spanner.

Neither Ross nor the local blokes can help me out with a pinlock conversion. yeah they just screw off, it is getting the pinlock posts to suit this thread that is the issue.
