I would like to try and copy this style of beer either lit or extract has anyone given it a try...
Cheers
Blue Tongue Lager
Re: Blue Tongue Lager
Lagers are hard because they require temperature control. I have thusfar been too chickensh!t to try one and I even have a fridge and controller.
If using a kit, go for a coopers Euro + an extra light liquid malt extract tin, maybe a little noble hop boiled for 15 minutes, and a good hungry lager yeast. When the weather cools down to about 12-15 degrees average, you should be able to do this with no temp control.
If you want to do it in the meantime, maybe try using US05 yeast or (ahem) coopers regular kit yeast (not attached to Euro Lager).
I am personally not a huge fan of this beer, found it kinda boring, but each to thier own.
