krausen floater!
made a german pils the other day and used wyeast 2206( 2lt starter& ferment at 10)...first time i've used this one and it crusted up and stayed there for 2 weeks. i gave up waiting and bottled and the first 20 bottles were amazingly clear! then a few cloudy ones...it tasted great straight out of the fermenter & now(2 weeks on) just a great clean lager ...almost no sediment at all in the bottle..question is: has anyone ever seen lager yeast do that...i know some ales do, but have never seen it,ian
are cornflakes flaked corn?

I racked a BoPils yesterday for lagering, fermented for 2 weeks with WY2001 Urquell yeast.
I had quite a few thick clumps of yeast/hops like material floating near the top, which I scooped out.
I harvested the yeast cake and washed it, it's now in the fridge waiting to clear before longer term storage.
