Maudite Clone

Post by Iain McLean »

so, I just bottled my first brew and have learned a lot so far - jumped right in half-way and got a fresh wort kit from Grain and Grape and made an American Pale Ale (hopefully)... but I have a goal:

My kid brother lives in California and his second brew a few years back was one of the best beers I have tasted  so much that he brewed it for my wedding a few months later.

For my second brew i was thinking about making a stout as I like to demolish a few pints of Guinness every now and then but the wife loves Maudite, a Canadian beer we found while living in LA.

Playing the politician, i figure if I can make her a maudite clone then my life will be way easier

I'm already thinking of cultivating the yeast from the maudite bottles we have but does anyone know of a clone recipe for it?

All help would be appreciated...

Iain.

Maudite appears to be a strong Belgian Ale style, brewed in Canada.
Any recipes I can locate are All Grain, and I'm not sure that's what you're after. I couldn't find any extract recipes.
Anyway, here's some links:
