Next week I'll be in Adelaide - I think they've got me at the Holiday Inn in the city. Anywhere reasonable within walking distance for a pint or two? It's been a while since I was last in your fair city...

Kings Head Hotel on King William Rd has a few of Adelaide's micro beers on tap.

Last time i was there (few months ago now) it had Steam Exchange Steam Ale, Lobethal Bierhaus Philsner and possibly a Gulf Brewery beer.

If you want some company let me know, I'm due a visit to the big smoke!

A short taxi ride (or bus) to the Wheatsheaf Hotel (39 George St, Thebarton) is worth it. Best pub in Adelaide for the beer snob by a country mile. I hear it now has White Rabbit on tap. It usually has a good range of micro beers on tap as well as 1 going thru a handpump. Most commercial beer on tap there is Coopers. I believe one of the brewboys beers is on tap but don't quote me on that. If not, it will be in bottles.

The Wheatsheaf is definitely the place to go. Their MySpace page is generally a bit more up to date than the real website.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier....It was all pre-organised, so no, I didn't get to try the locally made stuff.

I did manage to do a bit of shopping in the Coopers shop at the airport before leaving!!
