Fire, rock, beer
Before we drank this beer, Geoff regaled us with a story about his pre-schooler daughter who upon hearing on the car radio that Michael Beer had been selected to play in the Australian Test cricket team said, “You'd like him, wouldn't you, Dad?”.Oliver: “I reckon this is a pretty good beer actually.”
Geoff: “You'd be happy if you made it as a homebrew. Yep, if you brewed it yourself you'd be rapt. Nice and malty, good malt on the nose.”
Lisa: “It's a good beer, but a little burnt on the palate … it's dumb.”
Brewed using an ancient method, where rocks heated by fire are added to the wort to boil it. This is, no doubt, the source of the slight smokiness.
