Forum now on smartphones

Post by Oliver »

Homebrewandbeer.com forum is now easy to use on your iPhone, Blackberry or Android phone!

We have enabled a program called Tapatalk on the forum. To use it you need to install the Tapatalk app on your phone, which will display the forum in an easy-to-use format.

To read more and for links to download the Tapatalk app check out the Tapatalk website. Unfortunately Tapatalk is a paid app - although only a few dollars - but if you read reviews you will see that it is widely known as the best solution for using forums on smartphones. It is also available for iPad.

If you have any queries about the setup or use of Tapatalk please see their website and forum.

For Andriod users there is a free, but unofficial, app, which you can download from the Android Market.

Cheers,

Oliver

PS Thanks to the good Dr Smurto for letting me know about Tapatalk.

Excellent news. I had been using the free Tapatalk client (read only) to read another forum I am on, hadn't heard about Convo, will give it a try. Thanks for this.

Great news for those who have smartphones.

I'm still using the same pre-paid I acquired 3½ years ago, and it suits me just fine, but good luck to all those who feel the need to chase new technology. I don't have that need, as I'm retired, so I can visit the forum on my PC whenever I want.

I'm using the official app on an iPad and liking it, for anyone skeptical but considering.

Though to be honest, the iPad is big enough that the normal safari version is fine, though it was cheap enough at a few dollars that I don't feel ripped off.
I can see how it would be convenient on a small screen.

I downloaded it on Friday evening when my iPhone popped up a message about it, and I honestly think that just viewing the normal site through safari is better. I could see it being useful on the other site, which I find to be very cluttered, but the layout of this forum is simple and easy to use. Maybe I'm just a creature of habit.

I find the app makes skimming forums easy. Good for those of us who like to keep in the loop whilst at work.

@Warra - you sound like my dad! He couldn't get his head around the spirit level app.

It's not that I'm a technology gumbo, it's just that I choose to use only what I need and which suits me!
