I've swiped this from page 32 Common MeadCharacteristics of the 2004 BJCP Style Guidlines.
"Clarity may be good to brilliant. Crystal clear, reflective examples with a bright, distinct meniscus are highly desirable. Observable particulates even in a clear example) are undesirable."
Personally If it tastes good, but I don't like the look of a drink, I'll use a pewter mug.
