How clear should mead be?

Post by Cleric »

Completely transparent like white wine or opaque like red wine?

Thanks for your time.

I've swiped this from page 32 Common MeadCharacteristics of the 2004 BJCP Style Guidlines.

"Clarity may be good to brilliant. Crystal clear, reflective examples with a bright, distinct meniscus are highly desirable. Observable particulates even in a clear example) are undesirable."

Personally If it tastes good, but I don't like the look of a drink, I'll use a pewter mug.

Cheers,
Greg
