Hi Guys,
I hope someone can help me out. I'm trying to locate some Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (a US beer).
I've previously found it at beerstore.com.au but they've just said it's no longer available through them. I can't find it anywhere else on the net in Australia. I may need to resort to importing it, but need to find someone that will send internationally.
Has anyone seen this beer anywhere in Australia, or somewhere that will send it here? Any help would be very much appreiated.
Cheers,
Lee

You can't get it anywhere in Aus. I've been trying to find it too. Apparently, SN has a distribution agreement with a European distributor, and this distributor was sending it on to some ppl in Aus who were then distributing within the country. When SN found out about it, they cracked down on it. Something to do with needing to maintain their cold-chain (you know... they want to make sure the conditions it's shipped under don't damage the product).
So now, instead of being able to access a product that SN didn't know the quality of, we can't access it at all. Go figure.
This all from Grain and Grape (they eventually told me the whole story after they got sick of me asking about it every time I went in, about once a week
).
If you find a way to import it, I'd be in for some!

A legend at work picked me up a six-pack from:
Purvis Wine Cellars
615- 617 Whitehorse Rd Surrey Hills 3127
(03) 9888 6644 / (03) 9836 0994
purviswine@optusnet.com.au
That was late last year. Apparently the sixer he got for me was one of the last. But might be worth a call or email to see if there's more in stock or more on the way.
Let us know.
Cheers,
Oliver
PS It's a magnificent, magnificent beer.

what might a bottle go for if nondistributable in Aus.?
seeing i have hooks in California (close to Chico!!) I wonder what the going price would be...not in it for the money, just want you all to taste the beer of my youth
at the grain n grape demo a few weeks ago i sampled Temple Brewing Co.'s Pale Ale, this is the closest beer Ive ever tasted to SNPA and when I told the head brewer this he smiled soo wide
http://www.templebrewing.com.au/
I shit you not, I may be a beginner brewer, but have years of experience drinking the fine beverage.

try the celebration ale (IPA) and thhe porter if they have it in stock, the pale ale is their flagship brew, also there wheat is great,
other northern california beers to try would have to be the Anchor brewing
try the steam and liberty ale (IPA), you cant go wrong, they also put out a christmas brew every year and it is so rich, we used to have one while opening presents

Heya buscador, I was at the demo too, the Temple beers sure are excellent. I think their special bitter was the best beer I tasted at the Federation Square mirobrewery showcase thingo, which is saying a lot as there were 50 beers available. I might have to give their Pale Ale a go if it's the closest thing available to an SNPA.
