big mistake

Post by seannicholson2 »

i just bottled my second brew using a coopers fermenter, when i put the lid on i rimmed the seal with olive oil. And today going to clean the fermenter after just bottling i cant get the bloddy thing off. I had 2 other people try and get it off but i cant get it off, I tried getting a piece of wood and hammer to tap it off on one of the plastic ridges but it just snapped off.
Any other ideas?

cheers sean

hot, not boiling water, over the outside edges of the lid. it'll expand a little, and loosen.

I'd go hot water too. The soap/detergent option leads to too many other problems.
