My still made by Puredistlling.com.au made it easy to understand, use and produce the best bourbons I have ever tasted. I use wood chips from white american oak bourbon barrels and soak my distillate in it for a few weeks, ue a little turkey essence, sit back and enjoy great bourbon for about 20 cents a glass as opposed to a $6 or more for a glass at a pub.
I resisted making my own spirits because of the paralell between the quality of home brew beer and the real thing. Home brew beer to me tastes like shit. But my bourbon is to die for.
i'd love to hear from like minded blokes who know a few tricks to go even further. I'm currently using 1/2 tennessee chips, with wild turkey chip. Find the tiny bit of extra sweetness similar to Jim Beam Small Batch (Port added).
