Chimay Blue Recipe

Hi All,am getting a bit bored with my current brews so thought Id try the Chimay Blue from the recipes forum.Have the white labs yeast,but am having problems finding Leabrooks straberry clover honey in SydneyCould anyone help?

Am going to play it safe, and to use the old adage"If in dought throw them out"Will turf current stock of twist tops and start renewing with new ones.Oh to find a batch of old pre twist top bottles,they are like hens teeth in this neck of the woods

Have noticed that lately when drinking bottles of the same batch of home brew that some bottles were flat and yet others are ok.The ok bottles were the old heavy pre twist top and the flat ones were twist tops,that had been recapped many many times.Am thinking that you can only recap these ...

What is your cleaning procedure?Call me old fashioned,but Ifind 1 cap of bleach in a bath full of water does the trick every time.Use the same water for bottles,fermenter,starter kits etc.Works a treat every time(A lot depends on whether your missus will let you use the bath!)

Try300-400gms of choc malt in boil for first half hour.Adds body and flavor and anice dark color.A good hb shop will crack it for you.About $6 akilo if you buy in bulk.
