cinnamon and apple. Seemed to make sense at the time.

Ginger has started to ferment pretty slowly but fermenting all the same.

Haha yeah i left out the cinnamon on purpose. I usually like cinnamon but i added one stick to my cider and it didnt really like the results. You could taste it but it was just a little weird THen again it might have just been a bad cider. Ill save it for my next ginger batch.

Pitched the yeast late sunday and there wasnt much action yesterday (tuesday) afternoon.

Pitched the yeast at 25C and it has been sitting around 22 for the last couple of days.

recipe was

1kg fresh ginger
3 small lemons juice and zest
10 cloves
2kg raw sugar
10gms champagne yeast.

Ive recently made drsmurto Ginger recipe and the champagne yeast is taking a while to kick off. Do you need to add yeast nutrient ?

And if so will adding it now make any difference ?

i made a apple cider and added one cinnamon stick that wasnt added to the boil and you can definantly taste it in the final product.

My wife awoke to a large bang/pop coming from the laundry. She went to survey the damage thinking it was an exploding bottle but it was actually the air lock that had been boosted out of the top of the fermenter ...

THanks for the reply. I will try and keep it a bit warmer. The first week or so it sat at 20 but with this cold snap it has been difficult keeping the temp up. A lager yeast probably would have been perfect.

Im new to the game and recently put down this as my 2nd brew.

1kg dex
250g lactose
4 peeled quartered granny smiths and a cinnamon stick
