Re: Partial help

Thinking of giving partial brewing a go.
Don't want to spend too much extra cash and buy larger pot to do an all grain (have a 15Litre pot), but after reading a couple of things doesn't seem as hard as i thought to do a partial.
If anyone has simple instructions from start to finish (including ...

[quote="Robbo"] OR you could be mistaking as a third arm that southerly appendage that we are so famously endowed with. [quote]

I am from the far south of Tasmania, so does that mean that my appendage stretches further south????

ps: please sir, may I have a t-shirt?

I'll be in for a t-shirt and of course the wife beater.

What could be more fitting for a bunch of Aussies drunk on home brew? :D

Sleonard, the Leatherwood Honey goes well (IMHO) with darker style beers. I think it would have overpowered the Bavarian. What else was in with the kit?

Greg,

Only added the honey to the kit when mixing.

Do you have other suggestions as to what to add?

I think a less imposing flavour of honey ...

Simon,

This is bad news for me - I did a Canadian Blonde with 250g of Leatherwood that's currently in secondary. I thought it would be great, now you've got me worried :-) I'll let you know how it turns out; maybe only 250g won't be too bad.

Hang in there Vita!

Let us know how it turns out. 250 ...

Honey? IMO not good!!!

Well, have read a bit on hear about adding honey to the brew (yes, from Dogger himself).

Well, silly ol me thought I would try this honey thing out! Trying to brew a nice summer beer that would be great during the hotter days here in Tassie, used 500g of leatherwood honey in a Coopers Canadian ...

Stang,

Generally, as a newbie, I use measure out 180g of dextrose, dilute in enough boiled water to disolve (~200ml) and then top up to 500 ml to aid the cooling.

never had a prob with this method.

Cheers

Simon

ps. an after thought, I should use some ice to 'aid the cooling'!!!

I think I can see a bulk priming prompt coming up here....

But anyway, in my opinion (ameture), the beer may need longer to ferment. (?????)

Opening this up to the masses......

I found the first stubby went down ok, but the second stubb never tasted quite right.

Cheers,
Greg.

Just sampled 2 of them. I think the second went down easier than the first. Will still not be going out to buy a box of 'em.

Bit more malt than the VB we know but still has that after taste ...

Jacko,

The alc% seems to still be up there, but he does add ~1.25kg of sugars.

I have no plans to switch to the 29L method (Dunno why, just dont seem right!!) but I do say that there is nothing wrong with my mates brews.

You are right about the hot water! use less as everyone on here says, about ...

Jacko,

My thoughts are that you are in Hobart. My reason for stating this is that I have also posed the same question to everyone here and they have had the same reaction.

So you must be seeing the girls (thats right to all others GIRLS) who run the shop in Elizabeth St.

If this is true let me ...
