Another point to mention is its better to hand wash than to use a dishwasher. I find the dishwashing detergent kills the head on my beers. Makes you think your beer is flat.

So if I got this correct:
At the end of primary I should turn off my heater and allow beer to cool for a few hours.
Move beer to 2nd fermenter. Leaving behind sediment.
Allow to settle and cool for a few days.
Bottle.

I have got a malt shovel indian pale ale in the fermenter. The interesting thing is its far from pale. Don't know about the 11 litre in the 23 litre fermenter. I got 2 tins and some hops for chrissy and have decided its finally cool enough to put them on now.

Its at Mt Evylyn Library from 7pm to 8:30pm tonight. Not sure who is running it.

I got my kits from my local home brew store. Came with a submersible heater which you dont get with your standard coopers kit. Worth every cent. (I have only done 4 runs, so I am no expert)
