Beez Neez

Post by Jay »

In your beer reviews you give Beez Neez a rating of 1/2 a star, yet your comments say:

"Terrible. Could we drink more than one? No. Could we finish the beer that we've been given? No. Does the taste and smell make us feel sick? Yes. Offensive and disgusting. "

I reckon that any beer that can't be finished, and I'm a firm believer that once you crack/draw a brew it should be finished, shouldn't deserve 1/2 a star.

Just my opinion,
Jay.

I think that the only reason we gave it half a star was because it was beer.

It's funny, from comments here and elsewhere it seems you either love Beez Neez or hate it.

I hate it.

Cheers,

In my never ending quest to taste and maybe make some of the beers discussed here, I also bought a Beez Neez when I bought my Chimay the other day. Cracked it for tea tonight.
Impressions:
Watery
Not much flavour
Did have a honey tinge that was noticible.

Buy again? :?:

No. :x

I personaly think you should drink this one on tap, not bad but couldn't drink it all night.

I agree with Oliver on this one.

I bought one last weekend as a tester, to gauge the honey wheat beer I am in the process of bottling now. I must say that this style does not fill me with confidence but seemed like a good idea at the time. Having said that, it is something that could find itself consumed rather quickly, if not only for making room for another brew.

On tap is great. Freshly purged keg of Beez Neez is actually very nice, and refreshing. Upfront on the tongue with a sweet, but not overly so aftertaste.

In the bottle...is another thing.

My memory must be hazy... because I tried Beez Neez a few weeks back and seemed to recall it wasn't too bad. Not a beer I'd consider buying again, but I reckon I'd drink it if it was free.

Is there something wrong with my palate?

Yes, I have a lot of hate. But my hatred is concentrated on very few things. Like Beez Neez, for instance!

Oliver,

Despite the fact that you are a home brew guru, I hate to say it mate but I think your opinion of commercial beers is about as bad as your choice in football teams. :D :D

Seriously though what is it that you hate about it. I only tried it for the first time on the weekend and thought it was great. Very easy to drink, not to gassy or fizzy, went down well.

Maybe it was the fact that I drank it while watching The Lions getting slaughtered by the Mighty saints, that made it much more enjoyable. :)

Trueman,

Maybe it's changed since I drank it, or maybe I had a bad batch or something, but I found it absolutely disgusting. It just didn't taste any good to me.

Sorry!

What about Matilda Bays Bohemian Pilzener?
Have you tried that Oliver? If so what were your thoughts?

C'mon, he agreed that Boag's St George isn't much more than lemon-scented urinal piss bricks soaked in water. Smells like 'em, too.

I have. Four-and-a-half stars out of a possible five.

Out of curiosity a mate and I tried this on tap tonight. After the first sip we were impressed but it all went downhill from there. Horrible after-taste. Struggled to get through it.

my very first beez neez, was after i had quite a few under the belt, and for some reason the honey flavour was massive. Just the best.

Since i have had about 3 more, and been dissapointed every time, as i had it as a starter.

So i am very sad and confused (more than the usual) about it all. i can see why Oliver and geoff and others weren't fans of it.

However, if it was my last beer i had on earth, i would still drink it down and lick the insides of my glass out.
