Beez Neez
Beez Neez
In your beer reviews you give Beez Neez a rating of 1/2 a star, yet your comments say:
"Terrible. Could we drink more than one? No. Could we finish the beer that we've been given? No. Does the taste and smell make us feel sick? Yes. Offensive and disgusting. "
I reckon that any beer that can't be finished, and I'm a firm believer that once you crack/draw a brew it should be finished, shouldn't deserve 1/2 a star.
Just my opinion,
Jay.

In my never ending quest to taste and maybe make some of the beers discussed here, I also bought a Beez Neez when I bought my Chimay the other day. Cracked it for tea tonight.
Impressions:
Watery
Not much flavour
Did have a honey tinge that was noticible.
Buy again?
No.

I agree with Oliver on this one.
I bought one last weekend as a tester, to gauge the honey wheat beer I am in the process of bottling now. I must say that this style does not fill me with confidence but seemed like a good idea at the time. Having said that, it is something that could find itself consumed rather quickly, if not only for making room for another brew.

Re: Beez Neez
My memory must be hazy... because I tried Beez Neez a few weeks back and seemed to recall it wasn't too bad. Not a beer I'd consider buying again, but I reckon I'd drink it if it was free.Jay wrote:In your beer reviews you give Beez Neez a rating of 1/2 a star, yet your comments say:

Is there something wrong with my palate?

Oliver,I think this is a beer that you either love or hate. I hate.
Despite the fact that you are a home brew guru, I hate to say it mate but I think your opinion of commercial beers is about as bad as your choice in football teams.

Seriously though what is it that you hate about it. I only tried it for the first time on the weekend and thought it was great. Very easy to drink, not to gassy or fizzy, went down well.
Maybe it was the fact that I drank it while watching The Lions getting slaughtered by the Mighty saints, that made it much more enjoyable.

C'mon, he agreed that Boag's St George isn't much more than lemon-scented urinal piss bricks soaked in water. Smells like 'em, too.trueman wrote: Despite the fact that you are a home brew guru, I hate to say it mate but I think your opinion of commercial beers is about as bad as your choice in football teams. :D :D

Cheers,
Oliver
my very first beez neez, was after i had quite a few under the belt, and for some reason the honey flavour was massive. Just the best.
Since i have had about 3 more, and been dissapointed every time, as i had it as a starter.
So i am very sad and confused (more than the usual) about it all. i can see why Oliver and geoff and others weren't fans of it.
However, if it was my last beer i had on earth, i would still drink it down and lick the insides of my glass out.
