has anybody had a problem with no fizz after chilling your beers, that is a batch is fine at room temp(20-24degrees)got fizz and head but after chilling got nothing
I find that when I put mine in the freezer, and pull them out when they are almost frozen, they are a lot flatter than those in the fridge.
Usually if mine are flat, its becasue im impatient and am trying to drink a beer 5 days after bottling.
More gas will dissolve in a cold liquid than a hot liquid. Think about the bubbles that come out when you boil water. Boiled water contains negligible oxygen.
That's why beer that's chilled will appear less gassy than the same beer warm.
There's the same amount of gas in each, but one there's less dissolved in a warm beer (or other liquid) so it will appear less fizzy.
But I've had a few beers, so I might be spinning crap
But yes, the colder the temp, the more soluble the CO2 is in the beer which is why you need 10 psi at 38 deg F and 30 psi at 60 deg F to achieve the same volume of CO2 in the beer
