I find that when I put mine in the freezer, and pull them out when they are almost frozen, they are a lot flatter than those in the fridge.
Usually if mine are flat, its becasue im impatient and am trying to drink a beer 5 days after bottling.

More gas will dissolve in a cold liquid than a hot liquid. Think about the bubbles that come out when you boil water. Boiled water contains negligible oxygen.

That's why beer that's chilled will appear less gassy than the same beer warm.

There's the same amount of gas in each, but one there's less dissolved in a warm beer (or other liquid) so it will appear less fizzy.

But I've had a few beers, so I might be spinning crap :)

Oliver,

Why do they put airators on taps?

But yes, the colder the temp, the more soluble the CO2 is in the beer which is why you need 10 psi at 38 deg F and 30 psi at 60 deg F to achieve the same volume of CO2 in the beer

Mine are perfect cold and if I open one that is warm nearly takes my hand off with the pressure.

Hey there Squid. You're a long way from Grumpys...

So what's a nice squid like you doing in a forum like this?
