co2 cylinder

ive got a co2 cylinder but is says liqiud supply cylinder do not connect to gas equipment

can i use this for anything or what can it be used to fill bottles

I am not an expert on gas bottles, but I think you will find that the outlet has a spear that picks up liquid for transfer rather than just gas. However you came by the vessel, you would have to take it to the company who owns it to have it refilled so it is of no value to you. You will need to get a "pub gas" bottle if you are kegging or utilizing the Co2 gas for anything.
I don't know what the bottle would be used for normally, but in the case of LPG those types of bottles are used to fill smaller bottles, so that is possibly what the one you have is for. I have decanted LPG before, but I don't know about Co2.

I've not looked closely but some plumbers carry a CO2 kit with a small sock on the end of the hose which they use to freeze a pipe to stop the water and repair a break. I've seen it used where a car drove over the water meter. It would make sense that it would deliver liquid CO2.

Hi liquid co2 bottles have a tube going to the bottom to pick up the liquid if you unscrew the top and cut it off it will be normal or just use it upside down you still might have trouble getting it filled tho.

thanks for the responses,
im not looking to refill the cylinder i got it for nothing and then realised it was a liquid cylinder ,
so was wonering if i could use it to fill my other bottle or something ike that .

Agreed. Don't mess with that shit, it's super-high pressure. Unless you have the exact right fittings, that you trust won't rupture, run away!

Having said that, I have decanted BBQ gas from one cylinder to another, using the correct fittings. You do this by pouring the liquid from one cylinder to another, i.e. by raising one cylinder above the other, and pouring the liquid through the hose.

But be careful, and ask yourself if saving the $27 or whatever to get it filled professionally is worth more than your life.

I decant from liquid co2 bottles all the time but i surely wasnt recomending cracking open a full bottle!
