The proud moment

Post by KEG »

I grabbed a couple Grolsch swingtops and a couple Pilsner Urquell stubbies on the way home tonight... Shared one of the Urquell's with my flatmate, and he said he prefers my home brew :D

Granted, he is FAR from a beer connoisseur, and is probably just as happy drinking carlton cold, but still... minor victory

If he has drank, or even CAN drink Carlton Cold I am going to have to discount his statements ;)

None the less, the Pil's are a damn fine drop! Well done mate!
Prost and happy brewing!

i think he just prefers more extravagant beers lol (even though that doesn't work with the carlton cold idea )

he liked a wheat beer i made that came out really fruity and reasonably tart.. he liked my belgian-style strong dark ale (as did i... couldn't get enough of it. there's only one bottle left now and a mate has it :( )

the pale ales and whatnot that i've made though - he'd be just as happy drinking coldies :-/

Just make up a batch of sugar/water/yeast nutrient and tell him it is a Carlton Cold clone, he will never know the dif! ;)

Have you tried my Dreadnaught recipe? That is quite fruity and tart...about 7.5%

If he likes strong ales and fruity tart beers that should be right up his alley!

If he drinks coldies, his tastebuds are already irreversibly damaged as far as beer goes. In the past, I've found that VB etc drinkers 'like my HB better' because it doesn't cost them anything...

It's still a proud moment though!

Nice one Keg, I get that all the time.

Only problem, what to do with all this Crown lager that people bring round and leave once they've devoured the homebrew

Could scrub the garage floor with it I guess

Tip it down the sink and use the bottles for HB. Don;t scrub the floor, leaves a sticky mess.
