It helps with the hop utilisation when you have a low gravity boil.

I'll stick with my small boils until I convert a keg into a boiler. I'll probably do that at the same time as I start mash (a long way away).

yeah. you can come out with fairly similar utilisation by not boiling all the malt til the very end, when you can add the rest. mind, if it's a fresh sealed can you're opening, it doesn't even need boiling really.

I still boiled all the malt (even the 1.5kg LME tin) just only with 2.5L extra water. Which came up to about 5L after adding and disolving all the malts. That's all my pot can hold.

I love the smell of this brew as its bubbling, can't wait to see how it turns out. Another 3 weeks, and I'll be drinking this. Thanks pixelboy. Now to finish making my next nelson sauvin recipe. mmmm.

I think you will find this beer will have little to no bitterness due to the gravity of that boil. If you can only boil 5L worth of wort, then make that 5L the same gravity as the final product otherwise you lose all the bitterness of the hops due to poor utilisation.
Prost and happy brewing!

Have made something similar to this after trying the Knapstein. I had a guess at a recipe and by the end of the keg thought it was the best beer to date. It is a nice clean summer beer that you could give to anyone at a BBQ and be a hit because of the clarity and not much bitterness, and with a great fruity taste.
1 tin of Morgans Canadian Lager
1 tin of 1.5kg Morgans Extra Pale Malt Extract
12 gms Nelson Sauvin 10 mins
10 gms Halletau 5 mins
2 packs of Coopers kit yeast
After two weeks in primary, moved to keg and added 5gms of each hop into a Hop ball. Left for about 5 weeks and was perfect (for me anyway).
