Longnecks wanted in Sydney

Post by coloneldom »

G'day guys,

I am just looking for any possible 750ml longnecks that people may be willing to sell or giveaway, I currently buy 650ml bottles for a $1 each so I am looking for any better deals out there. I am only just starting homebrewing and have put 3 brews down, hoping to improve the bottle collection!

Cheers

Do yourself a favour and go and grap some coopers P.E.T only $10-12 for 15 depending on where you get them and they make life so easy

Big W is normally the cheapest

I have heard so many differing viewpoints on the PET's, I am a bit wary of buying em.

I brew in glass bottles, a mate in PET. We both make pretty good, well carbed beer. Its a personal preference or the fact i collected a truckload of glass bottles before Coopers starting marketing their PETs. :D

I got loads from ND Brewing for 50c each (in lots of 16)

"Retro" bottles he calls em. You get a mixed bag.. I got several "Pick Axe" brand + several coopers brand amongst others

2 of them were stamped "NSW Bottle Co" on the side and "1957" on the bottom

Shoot him an email.. He may still have them.

Check out ebay - search for homebrew and you will find people selling bottles quite regularly in the eastern states. Alternatively, convince your mates to buy their beer in longnecks. A decent bottle capper negates the crown seal vs twist tops argument....

I have approx 50 Hahn premium green longnecks which I do not use.

For a reasonable fee, you can collect them if you wish, and also have the milk crates they are stored in.

I am in Sydney in the Hills District (Baulkham Hills).

If you are prepared to travel there's a guy in Kanwal who sells 'em out of his home brew store... I think about $10-$15 for a dozen (but don't quote me)... Second hand, I believe. Pretty sure they are 750ml.

I searched high and low in Sydney about 5 years ago for 750ml longies and they were tough to come by. Most places didn't have any second hand ones and only sold 700ml and 650ml newbies...
