I don`t love anything about it really.
It`s just a neccesary pastime to me and sometimes a chore, to make cheap but more than presentable beers.
{ I don`t think I could get to the stage that you have of sitting at a computer at 1.15 am on Saturday morning asking that question. }

This could get interesting...

What I love... the drinking of course... though I must admit I enjoy the brewing part more... usually...

Absolute control over the final product and quality there of.
The ability to experiment with different ingredients to find exactly what I do and do not like.
Playing with the various toys that one can use when brewing.
Meeting brewers and posting on the forums.

Most of all I enjoy the fact that there is so much to learn about brewing, and so much that is yet unknown, or yet to be proven! This greatly intruigues me and I spend a lot of time reading and researching.
Prost and happy brewing!

I love how it brings me and my wife closer.

She gets to
Sift thru bins to get empties
Watch me make beer
Help clean bottles
Spend weekends at the brew shop hearing them talk for hours on end
Hear me talk about beer
Watch me drink my beer
Wash my beer glasses
Wash the bottles again
Print labels for me
Read beer magazines
Read beer forums

Its more about the 'quality' time than the beer really :D

What i enjoy about Home brewing, is the making part i think. To experiment using some different ingredients to see what i realy like, and what different flavours i can create. Also reading on this forum to help expand my limited knowlege of brewing :D

I started with a hobby kit,as a way to make cheap beer.

Boy was I wrong about cheap 8) .Some 6 years later its now cheap :D

I use to love drinking beer, but had no idea about the construction of beer.

Homebrewing has taught me about quality beer, the subtleness, the robust, the decadent, what beer is and it's long history

The variety of beer you can make. You can't find that variety down at your local BWS or Liquorland.

I love homebrewing for 3 main reasons..

1. I love fine food, wine and beer. I like to think I can cook good food and once I discovered I could make good beer at home I had to try..

2. Like cooking, you can be as simple or complex as you choose.... and the extra effort is always rewarded. Its like pasta sauce.... Paul Newmans (k&k), Tin tomatoes and dry basil (extract) or fresh tomatoes & fresh basil simmered all day (ag)

3. Cost. Good commercial beer @ $50 a case is too much. Great homebrew @ $15 a case is better

Classic

What I like about brewing

Flavour, Flavour and Flavour
Kegging, there is nothing better....OK maybe 1 thing
Cost. I could not spend the $ on beer I like compared to beer I can make
Learning more
Giving the beers to your mates and the reply, "That's better than the other one last week"
Simplicity, once you get over the basics

Cheers

Come on guys, what do you love about Home Brewing?

What I love is:

1. Its like an apprenticeship or degree, so much to learn, experiment, try, taste, test... And its a hobby. Learn at your own pace, pay what you want to pay to brew and take it as far as you want to or afford to.

2. You can get involved on forums like this and it is a wealth of info, type in a search and research what you need to, also for the guys on here that answer the questions and help everyone out, even if you dont post regularly.

3. You get to brew any style you really want to with the right goods, and even when you bottle, you can have as many different beers as you want to in your fridge to try(start off on the lighter styles and finish off darker or heavier), what happens with commercial beer? You buy a carton of extra dry and thats all you have to drink and it costs $33-$43 a carton. Rip off.

4. With very minimal effort(more patience I think), you really do have an endless supply of beer, I mean, for what? 1hr to 6hrs work and you get up to 30 tallies worth of beer.. once your brew is done, no effort in waiting the 3-14 days to ferment, an hour to bottle(less to keg) and a couple weeks to carb up(less kegging) and you have beer, have a couple fermenters(or more) and forget about not having enough....

5. What I like is, filling the fridge with tallies and at the end of work and once I get home, open the fridge and decide what I feel like drinking based on how I feel and what is my mood. And at that point of time, I dont even think about the effort it took to make it anyway, as it is just a hobby.

Cheers all that have posted What they love about Home Brewing..
