all fixed, bolted piece of wod onto the capper, placed tightly into vice.. i see what you mean about needing more push to them.. cheers for the quick response guys.

Good seal on twist tops

I've recently got 50 twist top tallies, and have had a go at capping them to see how they go and am having trouble getting a good seal on them. I'm using a brigalow bench capper i believe, though it doesn't have a magnet.. not sure if these ones do or not. i picked it up 2nd hand for 15 dollars ...

cheers, i'm guessing i may as well tip this lot out?? or will it take a long time to develop the sour taste meaning i can haev a few before this starts to happen??

I used a blue mountain lager kit with a 600gm malt, 200gm dex and 200gm corn syrup mix with cascade hops. I fermented in primary for 8 days then racked to secondary for 7 days then back to another fermenter for bulk priming followed by bottling. I am 90% sure it isn't a krausen as it is more of a ...

i used a safale US-56 yeast.... just straight from the packet to the top of the fermenter.. will leave for another week or two and see if it goes down..

I just checked my newest batch which i bottled early on friday morning, after racking to secondary for 5 days and bulk priming, but on all of the bottles it seems that from where the beer stops at the top of the bottle, there is around a centremetre or two of a thin layer of what looks like the ...

What does every one use for racking?

JUst about to rack my beer, and got me thinking, what does everyone use for thie process, i just have a piece of tubing and suck the end, i know its unsanitary but no problems as of it..Any better suggestions as well?

Sorry guys, just a quick question on racking. i have researched it a bit on different internet sites, incluiding this one, but when you rack the beer, do you have to leave it in the second fermenter for anyamount of time?? or once it is in there, can you bulk prime it and bottle it.

time in fermenter

Just wondering, is 12 days way too long in a fermenter?? I had a period of lack of bottles, so have only just been able to bottle up tomorrow, but 12 days, will the brew have gone off??
