You should have given up the grog by now Oliver.
Think about your glycemic index and blood sugar levels.
And not to forget your liver function.
It's all too stressful. Have a beer!

Dont worry about "the book"
If ur serious about brewing and u make yourself known. then John or Chris will help u out at G+G. I have no affiliation with the business and am just a happy customer of 5 years.
It is the only serious HB shop in Melb from my experience.

I agree.Unless you need the bottles, dont tip any beer out!
It's too hard to brew. Some I have wanted to tip straight from the primary.
2 months later and they're good enough for the guests. :)

Even with C/F chiller, pitching temp for wort will only be as cool as the temp. of your tap water.Could be 8c in winter to 23c in summer.
Just pitch with lots of active yeast ASAP.I've noticed that lagers pitched at
24c and already underway will raise their temp a few degrees in the first few hours ...

If u keep an eye on ebay,Coke & pepsi do an annual clear out of old ones.
I bought 12 last year @ US$11 ea which actually ended up @ AUS$41 ea
landed at my local P.O. with new O rings. It's worth waiting.

It all depends on the size of your wort compared to the size of your yeast starter.and the temp fermented at.If you add 600ml yeast slurry (Ale) from yesterdays batch to a 1.5lt wort starter @ 24c and vigorously aerate, you will achieve high krausen within hours and it will feed itself out within ...

I've always used panty hose for hops.Chop legs until 3 sections each and
use cable ties. They do 8-10 vigorous 90min boils b4 disintergrating.
Just rinse and hang to dry.Hops are a natural antiseptic and as they will
be used in the boil should not need sanitising.
