Also, Winequip products in Sydney rd, Coburg stock coopers kits. Only use them if you know what you want though, not advice. I'm starting to get the feeling that my knowledge is not far off a lot of their staff, and i've only done a few brews (and a bit of cruising these forums).

I picked up some proxitane the other day, as it was the only thing my HBS had as an alternative to sodium met. It's a leave in style sanitiser, so I'm a little dubious, but the bloke at the shop thinks it shouldn't taint the taste of the brew. Any experiences? Should I use it, or stick to sodium or ...

Just put down a bit of a concoction: A Brewcraft czech pilsner with 500g wheat malt extract, 500g dry light malt and 500g dex. Added 12.5g saaz hops and used kit yeast. Took initial SG reading and adjusted for temp and it's at 1050. I'm a newbie, but it seems really high to me... Am I gonna end ...
