The Brigalow cider is toxic, but that's another story...

Just had a taste test of a brew of Brigalow apple cider.

Tastes like shit (although I haven't tasted shit before). Uninspiring, bland, no body, bubbles disappear quick. What a waste of 10 bucks!

Hey Eureka - it is not recommended that ...

ACT - you're right - why surf if you hate water?

I am of the opinion that a lot o people like the idea of retail, but the reality is a long way from their mind's eye.

And you're right about being a millionaire - it's not the way, but there is a difference between lifestyle and business man - maybe ...

ACT Brewer - this is a bit off topic, but I have the same issue with the Kawana (Sunshine Coast - QLD) HBS. Once I felt I was getting @rseholed out because it was nearly 2pm on a saturday, but I though it would be a one-off. I went back one weekday - as it's so close to work and asked about crystal ...

I may be dodgy, but I haven't measured the gravity since my first brew - If I'm unsure or it's been cooler (SE Qld winter) I may leave it two weeks in the fermenter. I found I didn't need to measure the alc content as I could work out with research if it was 3.5/4.2/5.0 approx. I read Olivers tips ...

Brothers,

I made the Cerveza kit, no hops (foolishly didn't want to spoil it) and made a banana beer that has taken a month to end up plain. Good plain, but plain nontheless. The banana taste has gone - thank the beer god.

Learned Brewers,

There are a few terms and acronyms I'm unsure of - if someone could help me out that would be tops. I used to brew in a MicroBrewery called Colonal in Brookvale in Sydneys Northern Beaches (anyone remember it?) and am familiar with that type of brewing. I now brew from kits, add ...

What you need to do is just give the wife the same ultimatum I did......'you'll go before the fermenter and beer does".

Will it improve in the bottle?
Can i add something at this stage to change the taste at this stage?

I just got 102 crown XXXX seal tallies from old mate up the road - some are dusty spider caves and some are muddy from years in his shed. I put them in garbage bins full of water with some Brigalow Detergent. I let them soak for a week or two before scrubbing and bottling. I thought I was using ...

Bad Brews can be tops and tug those strings of regret and sadness...

My first bad brew started exploding ( can of lemonade added and all bottles needed recapping!) and when I first tasted it, the cascade hops gave it a citrus flavour when combined with the lemonade. I left it a few extra weeks and ...

Tipsy,

You just defined what I thought about the sediment without me realising it before - the mud, when it's creamy is tops. Like Greg, I love mud too (us "MudBrewers" to give it a name) and I'm glad I'm not the only one - I felt like a sad old soak when I was only one who liked the chunks of ...

The more you drink over the years, the better you get at it. Beer is great, drinking is great and you always want to keep the momentum. So you drink tonnes, stay in control, and get boozy headaches early - and get the seedyness the next day...

Nice one Daz, maybe I'd better use the scoop to get the scum off the top - or whoever is swimming in it!

How many bags of hops would it take to make a pair of floaties?

Have you got salt/chlorine pool munkee or just chlorine?

I make all my beer in my 'Man-Shed' which is a horse stables where my dogs live. Between spiders, flies and ants, I've no problems. Good proteins though, for the bugs that don't get seen. Do you get many 'blowies' in the UK munkee?
