Strange, I have brewed CMP 3 times, each time with different adjuncts and each time FG has not dropped below 1.020. That was with the included yeast though.

I have seen this happen with some of my brews that I have racked to secondary and kept at a lower temperature until fermentation has completed. The lower the temperature of your brew the more dissolved CO2 you get. Thats why you if you bulk prime you should compensate for this. Somewhere in this ...

I just print labels onto a standard sheet of A4 paper. 10 Labels per sheet, cut them out with scissors and stick them onto the bottles with milk. (2% )
Comes off really easy as well.

I did the 3kg ESB pilsner about a year ago. It was terrible to start with, very bitter, almost undrinkable. But... as the months ticked by it became one of the best brews I have made.

I have done mostly kits but in the past couple of months have had a couple of goes at doing partials and have attempted 2 AG's. The AG's were half size batches. ie only 12 litres. My mash tun is too small for even what I am doing. So am working on getting a bigger one. After my all grain attempts my ...

I have made quite a few variations of Coopers Pale Ale. I have always been more than happy with the result.

Thinking.....
If what I thought was OK actually sucks.....
What am I missing out on!!!!
Think of all the great (even better) beers that I can still make... 8) :D 8)

I've bottled quite a few batches that were "stuck" at 1.020. Did with some of them try various options to get it fermenting again with no success. Added more yeast, stirred, added nutrient, racked, raised the temperature etc. No luck each time I tried, refused to go any further. They all turned out ...

I had a quick look in my "Brew Like a Monk" book.

Mostly Pilsener Malt (75 -90%), with Pale malt (0-13%), Munich malt(0-4%), and crystal malt (0-4%). Also wheat(0-7%), sugar(4-22%) and even honey(0-7%).

Hope that helps.

Cheers

I have a history with CMP.
It was my first kit and first attempt with homebrew. Not knowing what to do, I followed some bad advice and added a kilo of normal sugar as the only addition to the kit. Just poured it in straight out of the packet. Some time later that day I realised that what I had ...
