Re: I just bottled an infected brew, now what?
Thanks for the extra tips guys, I'll take them all on board. I don't think the 'DRINK QUICKLY' tip should be too hard to follow.

I just bottled an infected brew, now what?
Looking for a bit of advice. I bottled a brew a couple of days ago that was clearly infected, a thin white skin had formed on top of the wort. I tasted the wort from the test tube and it tasted fantastic so there was no way I was tossing it out, so I racked into a new carboy (leaving the white skin ...

Re: beez neez vs. bee sting
Although I've never tried it, I voted for Bee Sting. Surely it couldn't be worse than Beez Neez. Beez Neez is a terrible beer which should be banned from public consumption. It's unbelievable that Matilda Bay can produce a beer as great as the Bohemian Pilsner and also turn out crap like Beez Neez.

I only use stocking when making cider, but I always boil them for 5 minutes before use. The colour of the water after 5 minutes boiling tells me there is some sort of dye used in making stockings.Chris wrote:Anyway, just go cheap. Stockings aren't dyed, they are made of coloured nylon/sythetic fibres.

Safeway you little ripper!
From today Safeway have 20% off ALL beer. To answer the question you are all asking, yes, this does include the Coopers long necks. I just picked up 2 boxes of Pale Ale for $36 each, the Sparkling was a couple of bucks extra. It's a homebrewers dream, great beer, great bottles, great price. The sale ...

My suggestion would be to make your first brew following the instructions and work your way up from there. You'll get a very drinkable beer first up with the supplied ingredients but you will also appreciate the things you do down the track to improve your beer. If you go straight into using hops or ...

As long as my first brew goes well, which I hope it will, I plan on picking up the Coopers Australian Pale Ale kit for my second brew as suggested by someone here. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good malt or brew enhancer to use with this kit? Also, any good sites you know of where I can ...

What ?? You don't ask your mates to leave their money on the fridge, so you can buy more grains and hops, to brew more beer ?
A friend of mine has recently got his keg set-up going. He has a tip jar on the bar, no pressure on anyone to use it. He's just happy to share his homebrew with his mates ...

Different beers will carbonate at a different pace, there are so many variables from brew to brew. You have to consider how long in the primary (if you bottle earlier they are going to carb up quicker), the temperatures they are stored at after bottling, the ingredients used in the brew, what primer ...
