I use the laundry sink. Sooner, rather than later, SWMBO will tell me to clear those damned bottles away. No way will they ever be left more than a day.
OK, I'm ducking for cover at the reaction of all the politically correct husbands who do the laundry for their sweeties........

This is all well ...

The ...

4) Lagers should be cept COLD. For this time of the year, I'd say put the fermenter in the coolest part of your house. Fermentation will take a bit longer, but the results will be much better.

While this is true, I'd say it is not particularly helpful since he is a 1st time brewer and brewing ...

Storing Beer

How important is temperature in terms of beer storage?

I have moved into a smaller house so at present most of my beer is stored in a shed, which is roughly the outside temperature. This is all well and good at the moment, but I'm a touch concerned about what is going to happen to my beer come ...

I have a somewhat related questions which I don't think is worth it's own thread...

I'm currently brewing a lager, just racked it this afternoon, and I am planning to rack it again and refrigerate it for a period of time before bottling it. What sort of time period will I have before all the yeast ...

No.

Also it seems to have decreased significantly with time so I am assuming it was a cidery taste due to using shitty yeast and high temps.

I wasn't sure about putting the yeast in the freezer for that exact reason, so I won't.

I think I'll chuck the hops in the freezer though.

Cheers guys.

Storing yeast/hops pellets

I just got some dry yeast and some hops pellets in the mail...

Now, I am aware that these are kept in the fridge in homebrew stores but is it better to store them in the fridge or the freezer?
